
VIEJAS ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS
The mission of the Environmental Programs is to research, monitor, assess, manage, conserve, protect, restore, enhance, and utilize the natural resources of the Viejas Indian Reservation to maintain and improve Tribal environmental quality.
The tribe’s environmental programs are currently grant-funded from several sources. These grants cover a variety of different fields and environmental parameters.

Environmental Coordinator
Daniel DuGal
I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Geography emphasizing in GIS and a minor in Earth Science. Working for Viejas enables me to utilize my degree for the benefit of the tribe and the environment.
Environmental Specialist
Thomas Ciaramitaro

I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Geography emphasizing in GIS. The environmental specialist position allows me to make a positive change in the community while also learn about the area and culture.

Water Quality Technician
Christopher Paulino
I graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Environmental Sciences emphasizing in water resources. Monitoring the surface water on the reservation allows me to develop management and adaptation plans in an effort to build tribal resilience.
