The Viejas Environmental Department works with the EPA, BIA, and other agencies to monitor, track, and protect Viejas' natural resources. These agencies and Viejas Environmental Department work together to protect human health and the environment by creating and implementing the Tribe's own environmental law and programs. These efforts are consistent with the federal trust responsibility, the government-to-government relationship, and EPA's 1984 Indian Policy.
